SEPTEMBER 2009 – It is time to start gearing up for the 2010 JHS Writers Anthology. Start thinking about what you will write and get some notes down so you don’t forget your ideas.
Like last year, the focus is on short pieces of genius that is original to you (see the guidelines below).
There will be a meeting in October so check back here for updates. In the mean time, check out one of the previous Anthologies from the JHS Library to see what other students have created.

Guidelines:
Short stories – 2,000 to 4,000 words (if you are outside this range, maybe we can work something out)
Graphic Novels – 10 pages total. You must create your own artwork or team-up with somebody.
Poetry – any topic, no word count or page limits.
(see Mr. Thomarie if you have any questions!)

NOVEMBER 2008 – Writing has begun. This year we have changed the parameters slightly and have opened up the JHS Writers Anthology to not only short stories, but also to 10 page graphic novel style stories and poetry. So get those creative ideas going and submit your stories, graphic novels, and poetry to Mr. Thomarie by the end of November and you could see yourself in print by spring ’09.
Check out the guidelines below and head over to the JHS Writer’s Lounge in the Forums for some motivation from your fellow writers, or just to chat about how your writing is going.

Guidelines:
Short stories – 2,000 to 4,000 words (if you are outside this range, maybe we can work something out)
Graphic Novels – 10 pages total. You must create your own artwork or team-up with somebody.
Poetry – any topic, no word count or page limits.

Don’t forget that the full 50,000 word novel challenge is still on at www.nanowrimo.org and if you ‘win’ I will help you get your novel in print.
